Murid SK Temong menang anugerah filem animasi di Brazil bakal terima insentif
TEBEDU: Kerajaan Negeri Sarawak akan memberi insentif kepada dua murid Tahun Lima Sekolah Kebangsaan Temong yang berjaya menggondol anugerah 'Best Film By Popular Jury' di Festival de Cinema Escola de Alvorada (Fecea) atau Festival Filem Sekolah-Sekolah Antarabangsa Alvorada baru-baru ini, kata Menteri Pendidikan, Sains dan Penyelidikan Teknologi negeri Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Jawong.
Manyin berkata pemberian insentif itu adalah sebagai ganjaran atas pencapaian cemerlang mereka dan beliau akan bertemu kedua-dua murid secara peribadi untuk mengucapkan tahniah serta menambah jumlah insentif tersebut.
"Anugerah yang dimenangi kedua-dua murid di peringkat antarabangsa sememangnya amat membanggakan kita," katanya selepas merasmikan penyempurnaan kerja menaik taraf Gereja St Paul di Kampung Tema Saan di sini semalam.
Macgres Sawet dan Nabiatul Dania Zulfiqa meraih anugerah itu bagi filem animasi pendek mereka dalam kategori sekolah rendah menerusi karya bertajuk 'Batu Bijanjii' yang bermaksud batu perjanjian dalam dialek Bidayuh Bisadung.
Manyin, yang juga Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri Tebedu, berkata SK Temong adalah antara sekolah rendah terbesar di kawasan itu dan mempunyai kira-kira 200 murid.
Beliau berkata dua tahun lepas, sekolah itu turut memenangi anugerah di peringkat negeri dalam satu pertandingan anjuran kementeriannya.
"Mereka (SK Temong) telah melakukan usaha yang amat baik dan mencapai kejayaan yang begitu cemerlang," katanya.
Manyin berkata terdapat juga rancangan untuk menaik taraf bangunan sekolah itu dengan menambah sebuah lagi blok.
Mengulas kerja menaik taraf Gereja St Paul yang berusia 50 tahun, beliau berkata ia dilakukan dalam empat fasa yang bermula tahun lepas dan siap baru-baru ini dengan kos lebih RM200,000.

TEBEDU: The Sarawak State Government will incentivize two students of The Five-Year Sekolah Kebangsaan Temong who
successfully won the 'Best Film By Popular Jury' award at the Festival de
Cinema Escola de Alvorada (Fecea) or alvorada International Schools Film Festival
recently, said State Education, Science and Technology Research Minister Datuk
Amar Michael Manyin Jawong.
Manyin said giving the
incentive was a reward for their outstanding achievements and he would meet
both students personally to congratulate and increase the number of incentives.
'The awards won both
students internationally are very proud of us,' he said after opening the
completion of the upgrading of St Paul's Church in Kampung Tema Saan here
yesterday.
Macgres Sawet and
Nabiatul Dania Zulfiqa won the award for their short animated film in the
category of primary school, continuing the work entitled 'Batu Bijanjii' which
meant stone of agreement in the Bidayuh Bisadung dialect.
Manyin, who is also
Tebedu State Invitation Council Expert, said SK Temong (primary school) is
among the largest primary-school in the area and has about 200 students. He
said two years ago, the school also won the award in the state ranking in a
competition organized by his ministry.
"They (SK Temong)
have done a very good job and achieved such brilliant glory," he said.
Manyin said there were also plans to upgrade the school building by adding
another block.
Reviewing the
ascension work of St Paul's Church which is 50 years old, he said it was
performed in four phases starting in freelance and it was completed recently at
cost of RM200,000.
